Focus that Wish
Late, late post. I know. Sunday got away from me.
L-O-V-E-D everyone's dreams. Keep it up. Focus on them, and achieve all you can. If nothing else, you'll become more and more convinced that you deserve them.
My focus when I need to get away is the ocean. The sound of it, washing everything else from my ears, pouring over me like the wind and the waves. I have a white-noise device in my office, set to "ocean." No one touches it. It's running all the time when I'm writing. Like a dream in the background, telling me I can do it. That my heart's desire isn't a wish anymore...it's a reality, as long as I don't stop fighting for it.
New Age Question of the Day: What focuses your dreams and wishes in your life? What's your dreamcatcher, your tallisman. What can you look at and smile, listen to and believe, feel with your hands and remember?
My son's one of the strongest reminders for me of what I need. What I want and dream for. I call him my dreamcatcher in the acknowledgements for All-American Father. He's everything good in my life, smiling back at me every morning, and he's my motivation for getting up and making each day matter. What's yours?
Okay, we need winners from yesterday. And they are:
Joyce, the Nine West bag is yours!!
and
Shannon, the $5 Borders Gift Certificate will be coming your way.
Again, email me your mailing addresses, and we'll get things squared away here. It might take until the end of the week to get things shipped out, but they'll be coming.
And we need a new Holiday Party prize. How about the tweed Guess bag, and another Borders Gift Certificate? Leave a comment, and I'll be picking a winner by mid-day tomorrow. We're starting so late tonight, I want to give everyone a chance.
Come back tomorrow for a final excerpt, a chance to win the Nine West hobo bag, and I'll be giving away the set of "Daguther" books I promised. Plus, one more chance to hang with your blog buds and have some fun. Who's bringing the egg nog???

My son is also my dreamcatcher. He is six and my only child. He is the reason I always strive to be better. I am so proud of him - and even if I do everything else wrong - I know I'm raising him well!
I also look at my life and realize how good I have it. My family is healthy - everyone is happy - and that makes it easier to go after the dreams I have for myself.

Well my kids are definitely my focus and have been for many years. In fact, today is my daughter's eighteenth birthday and it seems unbelievable that she's an adult.

My focus use to be my 2 sons, but now that they are both married, my new focus is my 18 month old grandson. I don't see him every day but just looking at his smiling picture is enough to make me really happy.

I also love the ocean. If I am sad or hurt, I head to water. My dreamcatcher will always be my husband although he passed away 16 yrs ago. Just because we are not physically together, does not mean he doesn't keep me centered. Both my children are also biggies in my life. I have had the pleasure of my 4 month old granddaughter since the end of Sept. She is my talisman. Always a smile for her mimaw. I feel we are all blessed here in the blog. Seems that most of us have someone who we care for and who cares for us. I see so many folk who have no one. It breaks my heart to see them. My friends and I are adopting a lady from our community for Christmas. She has no one at all. Sorry for getting carried away but I just wanted to say how important it is to never take our loved ones for granted. I hope we all count our blessings every day. Hugs to all.

My husband has always been my best and most loyal supporter, through many years. His determination and fortitude never flags and it equips me to deal with anything that should occur. I try to shoot for the stars and he keeps me on an even keel.

My husband and my son. My husband is very encouraging. He is constantly talking to me about going back to school, finding new passions and living up to my potential. No, not like the potential they always told us about in school! :-)
My dreams and goals changed dramatically after the birth of my son. I am amazed on how much my thinking changed after he arrived.
Both of the men in my life make me want to be a better person. Sounds corny but, it's true.
Oh, love the bag!

My aunt is always very encouraging. She is 88 years old and still pretty active. Our family always got together much of the time for holidays at my aunt and uncle's. My uncle is gone quite awhile but my aunt has always kept up the traditions. And since my father has a hard time getting around, my aunt is cooking for both Christmas Eve and Christmas. My mom will help her and I will bring whatever they ALLOW me to bring - lol - it is always - you work - just do this. We live 30 mins away and they are afraid to come to us even with us picking them up as there is always the threat of snow and very cold weather.
They have all always been a wonderful family and can't believe they are all almost 90.

My family is my encouragement, support, and dreamcatcher. They are always there for me and support me. They remind me of what is important and ground me.

My daughter and son are my dreamcatchers too. I can be having a really bad day, and then looking at them reminds me that my day is truly blessed. They remind me to get over the small stuff, and to focus on the things that matter. They motivate me, center me, and fill my heart every single day. I have no cause to complain. I only hope that as a mother, I can help them catch their dreams, or at least lift them up high enough to grab them.
Hugs, Zara :)

Hmmmm...I would have to say my husband is my best supporter. I bounce everything off of him and he does the same so I guess we compliment each other.

Mine would have to be my granddaughters. Looking at the world through their eyes teaches me that things change, yet are always the same. They are my lifelines.
